About CF Leominster

We present a constantly changing, effective, intense, and fun series of workouts that will not only get you in awesome shape, but also prepare you for whatever it is that life throws at you.

What we do NOT:
-Stare into the mirrors on the walls (there are none).
-Chat as we casually spend hours of our lives on the treadmill, elliptical, whatever.
-Work out for extended periods of time without seeing changes in our body and performance.
-See people at the gym over and over without ever even learning their names.

What we DO:
-Run, jump, lift, throw, sweat, and suffer together.
-Drop heavy weights on the floor (God it feels good to drop those things).
-Get awesome, noticeable, life altering results.
-Accomplish things on a regular basis that we were positive we could not do.
-Use chalk. Someone said it makes us stronger.
-Grunt, scream, and swear (when we need to).
-Eat real food. Lots of real food.
-Smash our expectations and Crush our previous bests.
-Develop close relationships with the people who push us every day, while we push them.
-Come back for more. Over and over and over again.

CrossFit in 100 words

Here is a great summary from CrossFit Founder Greg Glassman in less than 100 words on how to achieve fitness:

Eat meat and vegetables, nuts and seeds, some fruit, little starch and no sugar. Keep intake to levels that will support exercise but not body fat.

Practice and train major lifts: Deadlift, clean, squat, presses, C&J, and snatch. Similarly, master the basics of gymnastics: pull-ups, dips, rope climb, push-ups, sit-ups, presses to handstand, pirouettes, flips, splits, and holds. Bike, run, swim, row, etc, hard and fast.

Five or six days per week mix these elements in as many combinations and patterns as creativity will allow. Routine is the enemy. Keep workouts short and intense.

Is CrossFit For Me?

Our functional workouts are tailored to each individual's fitness level. The class adjusts to each unique person, so from elite athletes to couch potatoes, everyone gets an outstanding workout, in a friendly and safe environment.

What this means is that regardless of your current level of conditioning, regardless of whether or not you are currently ready for beach season, regardless of how much time you have 'let yourself go,' CrossFit Leominster will help you.

Results of the daily workouts are measured and recorded to provide you with actual empirical data that tracks your progress and keeps you on your path to exceptional fitness.

Technically CrossFit is defined as "a strength and conditioning program that uses constantly varied, functional movements at a high intensity." But 'high intensity' is a term that has a different meaning for each person. We will help you find the appropriate level of scaling which will challenge you, but also allow you to succeed, and make progress towards your goals.

How do I Start?

Show up. This is the absolute most critical step.

If you are new, we will teach you. If you are out of shape, we will get you in shape. If you are scared, we will hold your hand. If you need to be motivated, we will drive you to compete. It is what we do.

At CrossFit Leominster we do not throw you into the fire. We do not feed you to the wolves. We do not drop you into the deep end. Everything we do is done with consideration and calculation.

Other FAQ's

Q: Do I need to get in shape before I could do this program? No, this program is specifically designed to get you in shape, regardless of your current condition. We constantly scale the workouts to accommodate persons of radically different fitness levels, from pro fighters all the way to people trying to lose 75 or more pounds.

Q: Will you help me learn about nutrition? Absolutely. This is an important part of becoming fit, and we will talk about it frequently.

Overhead for Core Strength           

Q: Do you have showers? Yes, both the men's and women's locker rooms have showers.

Q: Will my bad back (bad elbow / bad knee / bad breath) prevent me from doing your program? No. We scale the workouts to each person's limitation, perform our movements correctly and safely, and substitute alternate exercises for the ones you cannot perform.

Q: Do you offer any discounts? Yes. We offer discounts for police, firefighters, and active duty military.
